In I'm a Non-Binary Mermaid but I Have an Office Internship so I Don't Really Care About That Right Now, play as Aris, a clownfish fresh outta uni, as they work their first dev internship. Lock in, work hard and secure a job offer. Maybe make a few mistakes. Maybe cry a bit. It's okay.  This is the life of the unpaid intern.

Gameplay

As the intern, you need to keep on top of your work, popping bubbles with the relevant key. Alongside of this, you need to somewhat pay attention to your co-workers to ensure they're happy and also that they think you're competent in your role. If you make blunders, your dialogue box will become partially obscured, making it harder to follow dialogue.

• Mouse (recommended) or arrow keys and enter - Select dialogue

Made in one week for Flinders GRL Mid Year Jam. 

IANBMBIHAOISIDRCATRN was made as a quick prototype of our group's jam concept, inspired by this tweet. In our prototype, all the dialogue is in a scripted order, and only one bubble appears on screen with varying difficulty as the scene progresses. In a full version, we'd love to have multiple levels, extended dialogue that is semi-random each playthrough and have multiple bubbles on screen as difficulty increased.

Known Bugs

• On failure, NPCs briefly flash to wrong sprite
• On failure, when mid dialogue or choice selection, the transition to the game over screen is jarring
• Some missed bubbles do not impact your health
